The Cutting!
As this is being adapted from an old pattern, I'm doing this a bit rough and ready. I've loads of spare of the Bomull (the cream cotton) so if I have to re-do a piece I can do later on. I laid out the pieces with the last waistcoat I made to this pattern, to see if there were any rough and ready adjustments I made last time - it turns out I lengthened the shoulders and also increased the width at the front. So I did that again, plus the adjustments to the hemline.

I drew around the pattern pieces in washable pen (specifically designed to rinse easily out of fabric), and made the alterations along the bottom.

Then I cut everything out and made sure I left the pattern pieces pinned on. I doubled over the fabric to start with, after pressing it, so there are now two of everything, which will make up my lining (which I am also going to use for fitting, so it's technically also a toile).
The next stage will be to assemble it all it - just with pins at first - and then my sewing buddy will fit it to me.
I'm hoping that tomorrow I can draft out a design for the collar so I can make that up and start embroidering.
