Winter Waistcoat Part 1

So far, I've washed the lining/backing fabric, but haven't with the brocade. Mainly because I don't dare as it's the most expensive fabric I've ever bought at £12/m.

Laid out on top are my button options. I think I'll most likely go with the small gold ones.
The cufflinks also arrived today, they will be the only bit of red in an otherwise white and gold outfit. (I will also have a tray of jam tarts and possibly red ribbon in my hair).

The lining/backing is Ikea's Bomull, my go-to LARP fabric as it's cheap and light and warm and good.
The brocade for the front panels and outer collar is this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IFAVF28/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1
The pattern is my usual waistcoat pattern - adapted from this Simplicity pattern for a steampunk jacket.
So I've chucked their sleeves and collar completely, but this is a pretty good bodice shape on me. My goal for this waistcoat particularly is to have distinct points either side of the buttons, so I will be editing the hemline even more than usual.
Points like this:

There will be a collar that I've drafted myself, copied straight from my previous waistcoat, with lapels edited for extra fanciness and embroidery.
