The Fitting!
I pinned up the waistcoat in the cotton and put it on. It did not fit, but as hoped, was too big. So Jenny, my awesome sewing helper, carefully repinned the whole thing on me so that it fit exactly as I wanted. I stitched it all up, we made a few more adjustments, and ta-dah! A fitting toile for a waistcoat.
(please excuse the state of my living room, mid-sewing)

I then trimmed all the seams traced off all of those pieces onto fresh paper, so I now have a lovely new pattern for a waistcoat that fits me at my current shape!
